Access to social media has totally transformed the landscape for promoting special events and conferences. It’s not just the accessibility to free (or low cost, targeted) channels of distribution. It’s also the impact of photos and even more so, videos, which far outweigh the power of black and white words. But who has time (and resources) to produce original material?
OK, ready for this? How would you like a set of videos to promote your women’s event, all ready to roll?
I’m very excited about a promotional series that our featured speaker, Debi Gutierrez, has created. She personally LOVES women’s events — so much so that when she travels to speak at one, she takes an extra large suitcase, to take advantage of shopping the booths for unique treasures. Oh, and Debi loves her girlfriend time, and she loves learning — those are just three of her 8 Reasons Why You Absolutely Must Attend a Women’s Event.

8 Reasons Why You Absolutely Must Attend a Women’s Event
Now, of course, Debi would love to be the keynote speaker at your women’s conference or special event, but she actually produced these videos so that you can use them to promote your event, no matter who the keynote speaker is. They’re designed to get women excited about coming out to your event, and inviting their friends and family members to come along.
She and her talented producer husband Travis, have thought this through carefully.
There’s a short (2:35 minute) version that quickly runs through the 8 reasons. You can preview that here – and you’ll want to, to get the full list of 8 reasons!
Then there’s a longer, 16:47 minute version that expands on each reason. You can view that here. And, each of those 1 – 2 minute segments can also be provided to use individually in a campaign.
As you’ll experience, the way Debi delivers these messages is totally girlfriend to girlfriend, and very entertaining.
“Getting a women’s event on your calendar can get you through a whole month, even a tough one,” Debi tells her viewers. “Just seeing it there gives you something to look forward to, and will lift your spirits.”
Investment is a word Debi uses often.
“Make an investment in yourself and go learn something new.”
“Invest in you. Find a woman’s event.”
“It’s time to invest in you . . . do something just for you.”
She even hands out instructions on how to find a women’s event.
But perhaps my favorite, besides the one about having fun, is #5 “Let Your Family Prove They Can Survive Without You.”
“You stepping out to a women’s event for the evening, gives your family the opportunity to prove to you that they can survive without you,” she says. “Girl, step aside from your ego and just let your family handle it. If they order pizza, if they skip baths, if somebody doesn’t do their homework . . . hey, all that ownership, that’s on them, not you. This is your time. They’re not going to do it the way you do it, but you know what? It’s gonna get done, either way, it’s gonna get done…”
I just love her reassuring, “get real”, enthusiastic delivery.
“Women’s events are a celebration of womanhood, a celebration of sisterhood, a celebration of just being female, and fun. We laugh about things that only we, as women know, that we experience, that our male counterparts just don’t get — it’s just a phenomenal explosion of estrogen. It really is one of my favorite events to not only attend, but especially to perform because I get all of that wonderful female energy coming back at me in waves of laughter and it just feeds my soul.
“Get yourself to these women’s events,” Debi concludes, “to learn things, to invest in your relationships, to come home a saner woman, to go and have fun, and just enjoy being a woman.”
I couldn’t have said it better.

GRATITUDE RENEWED
Whether it’s fires, hurricanes, floods, shootings, or simply disrespectful rhetoric being reported in the news, an overabundance of intensely horrible losses and negativity are bombarding us every day. One doesn’t even have to be personally affected to be distressed.
All of that makes me all the more aware of my responsibility to be grateful — and yes, I mean responsibility — for all of the good in my life, and for so many of the little daily pleasures and conveniences that are so easily taken for granted.
It makes me feel ever more grateful and appreciative that I live in a warm, dry home, with plenty of good food, a loving husband (and beagle), family and friends who support me in good times and bad. I live in the United States, where I get to choose what I do, and how I make a living.
I get to do good in the world, connecting speakers I enjoy and respect with people who benefit from their inspiration, expertise, trials and triumphs. I’m grateful for electricity, clean running water, and electronic devices that keep me connected (most of the time), and entertained. I’m grateful for the bounty of nature that surrounds and feeds me.
As I write this, I realize that I could go on and on. Instead, I invite you to take some time every day to check in with your own gratefulness meter.
I trust your Thanksgiving will be filled with the people, things, and experiences that bring you joy, fulfillment and gratitude. Until next time, take care of yourself for your well being and those you love.
Yours truly,
Barbara
