With more than 35 years of experience in healthcare development, marketing, and consumer advocacy, Tanya is personally and professionally proud of being able to build consensus in a crowd, corporation, or community around a unified message or “cause” that improves health and life.

From the planning of the first network of freestanding breast health centers in the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area while with Magee-Womens Hospital and the establishment of more than 75 model women’s health education and primary care clinics around the world through Magee Womancare International and USAID to the more than 15 years of experience with Spirit Health Network, a strategic marketing company that she co-founded creating networks of women’s specialty programs at U.S. Hospitals, Tanya Abreu focuses on the power of scalability, patient experience, provider engagement, and efficiency in healthcare.

In the past 8+ years, Tanya has worked with hospitals, physician practices, and healthcare innovation companies on new models in health including digital healthcare, medical monitoring, telehealth, online education and motivation. In her role as a healthcare consultant, she has helped to found and form a non-profit for nurse empowerment, advised the world’s largest and oldest online provider of women’s health information, and helped to create and promote integrated women’s health and wellness centers.

Tanya continues her career as a much sought-after public speaker, author, social media personality, and consultant who believes that great healthcare should be ridiculously easy to get and the personal journey to better health should always feel good, never guilty. She has delivered more than 500 keynote speeches and conducted private workshops throughout the country and internationally in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development. Her views about innovation, transformation, and the woman’s perspective on healthcare have been published in the Huffington Post, The Ireland Report and elsewhere. She has been featured in over 100 television, radio, and newspaper interviews around the country as an expert in moving the healthcare consumer from awareness to action.

Tanya was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Lake Worth, Florida with her 7-year-old granddaughter Grace, her 11-year-old grandson Cody, and a menagerie of pets. Tanya enjoys travel, cooking, dancing, hiking, beaches, challenging boardrooms, bike riding, reading, and “getting things done” both personally and professionally. She volunteers for children in need, foreign charities, and women’s groups. She is also a part-time faculty member at Florida International University proffering courses in leadership, communication, and public speaking.
