D.A., NON-PROFIT CONSULTANT, SUSAN G. KOMEN NORTH CAROLINA TRIANGLE TO THE COAST

I serve as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders (NCONL) and reached out to Sharon. I was seeking a speaker who would be able to connect with an audience of nurse leaders from across North Carolina on the topic of resilience. As a professional, Sharon demonstrated her ability to teach the audience but this presentation became more than a teachable moment when she shared her personal story of being a parent of a baby with cancer and then her own cancer battle. Sharon is a gifted speaker with a humility that quickly draws others to her in a lasting way.

Transforming Lives as Healers and Leaders

Fatigue, burnout, staffing shortages…the list goes on and on for what healthcare workers face today. It’s time for them to reignite why they went into healthcare in the first place. They must understand how they are valued, respected, and honored for their compassion and commitment to serving others.

But it has to go beyond platitudes on self-care and resilience. Nurses, techs, support staff and clinical leaders need a visceral spark that results in true change.
In this deeply moving program, caregiver, bereaved parent and cancer patient Sharon Delaney McCloud brings a unique perspective that motivates people to remember their “why.”  With lessons from the trenches and beyond, Sharon shows audiences how to be a catalyst to transform lives as healers and leaders.
