“Nancy Norton is not only an outstanding keynote speaker, but also a talented professional comedian who brings a unique and refreshing perspective to healthcare audiences. During her keynote presentation, The Power of Humor, she skillfully blended stand-up comedy with meaningful insights about resilience, stress management, and well-being in healthcare.
In addition to her keynote, Nancy also led a breakout session titled “Practicing Playful Presence.” This session provided conference participants with practical strategies to incorporate humor, mindfulness, and authentic connection into their daily work. Through engaging activities and thoughtful discussion, Nancy encouraged attendees to approach their professional roles with curiosity, compassion, and a sense of play.
"Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Many participants described her keynote and breakout session as highlights of the conference, noting that her approach helped them feel re-energized, supported, and reminded of the importance of maintaining balance and resilience in healthcare. Nancy brought warmth, professionalism, and incredible energy to our conference. We highly recommend her for conferences, healthcare events, comedy shows, and professional gatherings seeking a speaker who can inspire, engage, and uplift audiences through humor and meaningful storytelling.
We are grateful for the opportunity to have had Nancy join us and look forward to welcoming her again in the future.” — Board of Directors, Illinois Association of School Nurses
"I would hands down recommend Nancy for individuals to choose for their events. She is sure to be a crowd favorite!
Nancy was extremely responsive and professional through the entire process from the initial conversations, to planning and execution. Nancy wanted to ensure that she was educated on our audience membersand how she could make the biggest impact through both humor and her support of individuals working in the healthcare and first responder fields. Nancy is a natural born comedian - as I reflect on her performance at our event, there were individuals around the room crying from laughing so hard, myself included. Her ability to think on her feet, interact with the audience and truly make her presentation focused around those she is presenting to makes her an incredible individual to work with and hire." -- Connor Christian, Communications Bureau Manager South Metro Fire Rescue
"To put it simply, Nancy was AMAZING! She had everybody rolling. Not only was she incredible during her presentation, but she had such a kind presence about her while she mingled with the guests. She is someone that you just want to be friends with! We loved her and would strongly recommend her for any occasion. I hope to book her again very soon. Do yourself a favor and do the same. You are in for a treat!" - Ashley N, Montrose, CO

Nurse, Comedian, and Certified Humor Professional -- the Power of Humor
Nancy Norton is one of those rare speakers who can walk into a nurses’ conference and have the room laughing within thirty seconds — which is exactly what tired healthcare workers need. She’s a Registered Nurse who became an award-winning stand-up comedian (not the other way around, which is part of what makes her so good at this), and she comes from five generations of nurses, so she’s giving care to the caregiver from a place of genuine understanding. I recommend Nancy for nursing and healthcare conferences, women’s health events, and Women’s Night Out gatherings — anytime an audience needs both real laughs and someone who genuinely gets the work they do. Bonus: CEs available.
About Nancy
Nancy Norton is a Registered Nurse, award-winning stand-up comedian, and Certified Humor Professional through the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor. She has spent more than three decades headlining at comedy clubs, festivals, and conferences across the country — and on multiple USO tours through Europe, Asia, Iceland, and the Pacific.
Her credits include winning the Boston Comedy Festival, championing the Seattle International Comedy Competition, and earning a “Best of the Fest” slot alongside Jay Leno at the Burbank Comedy Festival. She has been a regular headliner at Comedy Works in Denver since 1992 and has appeared on Evening at the Improv (Netflix), A&E, Nickmom Night Out on Nickelodeon, and in her one-woman show The Yellowish-Green Girl on PBS.
Nancy draws from real life — working as a nurse, parenting, growing up in the Ozarks in a big family, and adopting her son as an infant in Kathmandu, Nepal. Coming from five generations of nurses, she understands the demands healthcare workers face and brings humor that lands because it’s true. She is based in Colorado and produces the Tromedy Podcast, helping people cope with trauma through comedy.
Nancy’s mission: “To use humor and storytelling to help heal myself and others.” Nancy’s slogan: “No matter what, keep laughing.”
