Inspirational Women's Wellness Speaker

The people I get to meet in this business never cease to amaze me. Personally, I can’t even imagine running a marathon, let along 52 marathons in 52 weeks!  What a story!  What an inspiration! Julie Weiss achieved this feat not just for herself, but to raise money for pancreatic cancer research after losing her precious father to the disease. Julie radiates energy, purpose and passion, and she’s as at home on the stage as she is on the track. It’s impossible to walk away from her keynotes without a sense of awe, appreciation, and inspiration to see beyond one’s own self-imposed limits.

About Julie

Advocate, author, speaker, philanthropist, and athlete Julie Weiss completed an extraordinary feat in 2013—running 52 marathons in 52 weeks to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. Her inspiring journey garnered national media attention, from the Today Show to the Los Angeles Times to O Magazine. Known as the “Marathon Goddess,” Julie has become a symbol of hope, perseverance, and philanthropy. Over the past decade, she has raised over $1 million for pancreatic cancer research and helped contribute to an increase in the five-year survival rate for the disease, which has improved for the past two consecutive years.

Julie’s journey began in 2007 when, struggling with her weight and battling depression as a mother of young children, she took her first run on a whim during a Hawaiian vacation. Running gave her the answers she was looking for, and by 2008, she had completed her first marathon. Julie’s loving, larger-than-life father became her biggest fan. Just a week after his sudden and heartbreaking death from pancreatic cancer in 2010, she fulfilled their shared dream of qualifying for the 2011 Boston Marathon. In his honor, Julie channeled her passion for running into a lifelong mission to raise awareness and funds for research into pancreatic cancer—the third leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. and one of the least funded. “When I began this journey, my goal was to raise a million dollars and help find a cure for pancreatic cancer. We’ve come so far, but the fight is far from over,” says Julie, who is now an ambassador for the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research and a leading voice in the pancreatic cancer community.

Julie’s journey has expanded beyond marathons, as she continues to inspire countless individuals by sharing the story of her incredible achievements in a Ted X talk, in her memoir 52 Marathons: The Miles and Trials of a Marathon Goddess, available on Amazon.com, as one of seven featured runners in the inspiring documentary Spirit of the Marathon and in her motivational speech, Seeing Beyond Your Limits: The 7 C’s to Achieve Greatness. that she presents in engagements throughout the country.

Now in her fifties, Julie continues to run marathons, demonstrating that the pursuit of one’s dreams has no age limit. In March 2027, she will cross her 122nd finish line at the Los Angeles Marathon, continuing her lifelong mission to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer research.
