Hall of Fame Speaker, Humorist, Author
When only the best will do, women’s groups consistently choose Kathleen Passanisi because she is a Hall of Fame speaker, wife, mother, car-pool driver, healthcare professional, expert in therapeutic humor, author, and the filling spilling out of the sandwich generation. Her presentations are as fall-down funny as they are powerfully motivating. Women soak up her ideas on life balance, stress management and making their world easier and a whole lot more fun.
Kathleen works across the country with clients ranging from major healthcare systems, to trauma teams, from seriously ill patients to overly serious patient caregivers, and all types of women’s audiences. In her talks, she addresses issues in life balance, stress management, coping with change, the therapeutic value of humor, and the science of happiness. She is the author of It’s Your Life—Choose Well, co-author of The SPARK Anthology- A Manual for the Truly Contagious Who Boldly Delight in the Spread of Ease, and a contributing author to HUMOR ME—America’s Funniest Humorists on the Power of Laughter. She is the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award in the discipline of therapeutic humor, and a member of the Speaker Hall of Fame.
She founded New Perspectives in 1987 to address issues in wellness, quality living, stress management, and the link that exists between humor and health. Kathleen is a past president of the American Association for Therapeutic Humor and served on the adjunct faculty of the Washington University School of Medicine.
Kathleen’s work is all about making conscious choices for the better based on new perspectives. Working from a six-dimensional wellness model, each of her presentations is carefully crafted to give participants an opportunity to see their lives in a different light, open their minds to new ways of thinking, and adapt behaviors that improve health, nourish relationships, enhance creativity, heighten the joy, and enrich quality of living. Kathy brings substance, style and clean hilarity to her universal content, guaranteeing a successful meeting with lasting effects.
Most recently, Kathleen and daughter, Annie, launched the newest branch of New Perspectives — Happiness Advocates. The self-proclaimed poster woman for the “Sandwich Generation,” Kathleen is the funniest woman in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri and possibly the Western Hemisphere.
